M2 extensions with a diameter of 3 mm have been specially developed for use with RENISHAW switching probes. For use on scanning probes such as the ZEISS VAST XXT, these can only be used to a limited extent in conjunction with an adapter.

Product note
The use of extensions with a diameter of 3 mm is not recommended on scanning ZEISS measuring heads such as VAST, VAST Gold or VAST XXT. Due to the small diameter and the resulting reduced rigidity compared to the M5 or M3 XXT extensions, the reproducibility is poorer. M3 XXT extensions lead to poorer reproducibility of the measurement results. However, adapters to other systems are also available for special applications in the fasteners section.
